Inappropriate Siting of Plant:

***Use your OWN words – do not copy ours – or your planning objection may not count***

  1. Proposed development is NOT sustainable (LP INT1 presumption in favour of sustainable dev does not apply if development is not sustainable):

a. remote location – extreme southernmost edge of Dorset; one road on and off; far away from nearest source of fuel (RDF)

b. insufficient UK waste over lifetime of proposed plant, cf gov policy (RWSE 2018 and Environment Bill)

c. as pollution from other sources decreases, relative pollution from waste incineration will increase

d. location not viable for district heat network (and no identified customers, see e.g. PfP’s Non-technical Summary 20); see G9 and G10

incineration discourages recycling and so directly counter to gov policy, https://ukwin.org.uk/oppose-incineration/#recycling ; see this article from Geminor, a 3rd party supplier of RDF, on incinerators turning to burning recyclates during lockdown: https://geminor.no/en/2020/06/why-the-scandinavian-energy-recovery-industry-welcomes-the-reopening-of-premier-league/?fbclid=IwAR0SvRRwLVq9U7nipAYNE-wJzI86ZPJcnH_0D0kfcnOC8SReUOrY21Dlv_o
